A delegation from the Sabah Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) was hosted by Invest Johor and Invest Malaysia Facilitation Centre Johor (IMFC-J) for an engagement session with the goal of enhancing knowledge-sharing and cooperation in investment facilitation and economic development.
The session gave both sides a chance to share perspectives and firsthand knowledge about investment promotion, facilitation tactics, and projects meant to boost economic competitiveness.
Senior Vice President of IMFC-J, Adny Jaffedon Ahmad, presented an overview of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), highlighting its strategic significance and the opportunities it offers to investors.
He also briefed the delegation on the role and functions of IMFC-J in facilitating investments, supporting investors and strengthening engagement between the public sector and the investment community.
The engagement also featured a sharing of insights into Johor’s investment performance and the key factors contributing to the state’s position as one of Malaysia’s leading investment destinations. Discussions provided an opportunity for both Johor and Sabah to exchange perspectives on strengthening investment competitiveness and promoting sustainable economic growth.
During the visit, Haji Natazha Hariss, the chief executive of Invest Johor, also had a meeting with the SEDCO delegation, which strengthened the two states’ sharing of ideas and experiences.
In addition to expressing gratitude to SEDCO Sabah for the visit and significant interaction, Invest Johor emphasized the value of ongoing cooperation and information exchange in expanding investment prospects and promoting sustainable economic growth.
The visit is a reflection of both states’ continued efforts to improve institutional cooperation and look for ways to improve economic growth and investment facilitation.
