Colourful traditional Malay kuihs that are not to be missed

It is a pleasant drive to Capri By Fraser and dining at Caprilicious is always a breeze. Upon arrival, I was immediately greeted by juicy Shawarma, fragrant Lamb Roast, Satay and Pepes or fish pastes wrapped in banana leaves already provoking my senses before I even got to settle down at my seat.

So naturally, the proteins went to my plate first and to my surprise, the lamb was so tender that it simply melted in my mouth!

Harisa-marinated Lamb Roast that simply melts in your mouth!

The chef was kind enough to share with me that he marinated the lamb with a ‘Harisa’ recipe, something that many senior Johor Bahru citizens remember eating during Hari Raya. The long process is similar as it takes two days to marinate, and half a day to cook the lamb to perfection, resulting in the most tender, flavourful roasted lamb that I have ever tasted so far. It is a luxury to have this considering the amount of time and ingredients it took.

Rich and tasty Lamb Briyani Gam

Complete your lamb experience by pairing it with their tasty Lamb Briyani Gam and if you need more gravy to your rice, there is a line of dishes to go with it. I highly suggest adding Vegetable Dhalca for a perfect lamb experience.

Not much of a lamb person? There are other delectable options such as the piping hot Asam Laksa, Beef Rendang to go with Lemang and Ketupats and many more.

My personal favourite besides the lamb is the panfry Sea bass Capers Cream Sauce that goes surprisingly well with the salads and Ulam-Ulaman kampung style.

The abundance of sweet options from desserts to snacks are immense and colourful, it lifts up your mood to not skip the Malay kuihs, cakes, puddings and DIY Ais Kacang!

Ready for some great food? Caprilicious is offering early bird promotion if you book by 6th April at RM88+ per adult for Sunday to Thursday and RM108+ per adult for Friday and Saturday’s date.

The normal price is set differently according to which days you chose to dine in. From Sunday to Thursday, RM98+ is charged per adult, RM48+ per child of 5 to 12 years old and RM68+ per senior citizen aged 55 years old and above.

For the weekend (Friday & Saturday), the buffet is priced at RM118+ per adult, RM58+ per child and RM78+ per senior citizen.

Do take note that the BBQ Stall comprising Roasted Whole Lamb & Chicken Shawarma is only available on Friday & Saturday.
