ibis Styles Iskandar Puteri was on my radar since it was rumoured to open months back and I recently experienced their space through Jerome Wong, their Sales Director.
It’s pretty straightforward going to sTREATs, their all-day dining restaurant that has been serving an all-you-can-eat buffet combining all the elements of local and continental breakfast fare.
Stepping into the dining area, I was immediately greeted by its natural cocoa-coloured interior design which comes from the rich history of cocoa-growing & production in Johor, the home to Asia’s largest cocoa processor Guan Chong Bhd. Jerome informed me that it is coincidental that the owners of the hotel have teamed up with Accor, to bring this uniquely designed gem into Johor state’s capital.
With pleasant earthy tones, I was seated beside a large window pane, plenty of sunlight to increase my appetite. I picked up a few greens as my appetiser before chowing down a few of their popular, Malay mixed rice with an assortment of side dishes. I picked up chickpeas and brinjal dishes, together with a beef stew that was calling to me from afar.
I could not take more carbohydrates for the day so I binged on their homemade rolls to go with the hot mushroom soup and a small serving of rojak buah. I ended my meal with a pudding to round up my luncheon.
