DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru’s all-day dining restaurant, Makan Kitchen, presents a Mediterranean-themed buffet dinner to take guests on a culinary journey with exotic Middle Eastern cuisines.

This buffet dinner is part of the nationwide “Chup! Makan Dulu” promotion by Hilton hotels in Malaysia. A classic Malaysian slang, “Chup” is synonymous to the word “pause” and is often used to interject someone in a playful and friendly manner. Through this campaign, the brand wishes to remind Malaysians to take a break from their hectic day-to-day and enjoy quality time with their loved ones over a hearty meal at Hilton.

Themed “Essence of Mediterranean”, the delectable buffet spread will feature an array of classic and modern Middle Eastern dishes, using rich flavours of aromatic spices to tickle one’s palate. Among the main highlights are Roasted Harissa Lamb, Ras El Hanout Roasted Beef Tenderloin, Moroccan Vegetable Tagine and Persian-style Grilled Kabob.

Guests can also head over to the local stations for traditional delicacies such as Chef Ayub’s Homemade Venison Rendang, Nasi Bhukari, Beef and Chicken Satay, Laksa Johor, Mee Bandung and more. While those with a sweet tooth can rejoice at the wide selection of sweet indulgence like Durian Tempura, Pulut Lemak Kukus and Dates Ice Cream. On top of that, there’ll also be a live traditional performance to keep guests companied, and a free recipe card from Chef Ayub that they can bring home with.

For those who prefer breaking fast from the comfort of their home, they can order the Souk Set or Santapan Set from the takeaway menu. The Souk Set is comprised of four Mediterranean courses such as Lentil Soup, Lamb Moussaka, Moroccans Vegetable Tagine and Assorted Dates. Infused with rich Malay flavours, the Santapan Set is packed with six curated courses, including Nasi Biryani, Ayam Bakar, Udang Harimau Kari Kapitan, Bubur Lambuk and more.

Running from 13th April – 14th May 2021, the buffet at Makan Kitchen starts from 6.00pm–10.00pm. The promotion is priced at RM158 nett per adult and RM79 nett per child. Early birds can relish on a buy-8-free-2 offer from now till 12th April 2021.

For a grander option or corporate dinners, guests can opt for the banquet dinner at the Grand Ballroom with its price starting from at RM118 nett per adult and RM59 nett per child from 13th April – 14th May 2021.
