When the RTS Link Bukit Chagar and KTM Komuter service begin operations, the Federal Government will build a bridge to integrate services and strengthen traffic dispersal in the city.

Transport Minister Loke Siew Fook stated that the RM60 million facility would make it easier for passengers to transfer between the two services.

He stated that the Transport Ministry had received approval from the Economy Ministry for the facility’s implementation, which is expected to take approximately 12 months to complete.

“After completion, passengers using KTM Komuter can stop at the KTM station and continue their journey to RTS Bukit Chagar Station.

“We want to encourage RTS Link users to use public transport, whether by bus, KTM Komuter, or other means,” he stated during a visit to the RTS Link project.

Loke stated that the development was in addition to the public transport integration facilities planned around Bukit Chagar Station to ensure that the increase in passenger movement once the RTS Link is operational can be managed more systematically.

He explained that, in addition to the connection with KTM Komuter, the integration includes the MyBus stop-and-go bus service via a special flyover to the public transportation hub near JB Sentral, as well as the flyover connecting Bukit Chagar Station to JB Sentral.

“The Bukit Chagar Station will be integrated with various modes of public transportation in Johor Bahru. “This is one of the government’s solutions to ensure that traffic dispersal is properly implemented,” he stated.
