The Johor Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has begun various early preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of the 16th Johor State Election (PRN), which will be held soon.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail stated that the preparations included personnel assignment, security, logistics, and coordination among the agencies involved.

According to him, these early steps are critical to ensuring that all security-related plans can be organised in an orderly manner, as well as identifying every operational requirement ahead of time.

“What is important is that people can carry out their responsibilities with ease and confidence, while a healthy democratic environment is maintained.

“With thorough preparations and the cooperation of all parties, the 2026 Johor State Assembly Election will take place smoothly, peacefully, and harmoniously for the benefit of the people and the state of Johor,” he wrote on Facebook.

Earlier, he went to the Batu Pahat District Police Headquarters (IPD) to get a briefing on the security forces’ readiness and preparations for the election.

The Election Commission (EC) announced yesterday that a special meeting for the 16th Johor State Election will be held on 12th June 2026 to set important dates such as nomination day, polling day, and the electoral roll that will be used.

The Johor State Legislative Assembly (DUN) was dissolved on 1st June with the consent of Johor’s Regent Sultan, Tunku Mahkota Ismail.

The Election Commission (EC) will convene a special meeting on 12th June to discuss the 16th Johor State Assembly General Election.
