If you are planning for a weekend of arts and culture, be elated to catch that Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice; going live on stage for one night only in Johor Bahru!
The same play has swept 10 sold-out shows in Kuala Lumpur, and it is now right at your doorstep to enjoy.
Organised by Johor’s Stagecraft Theatre Productions for the one and only Johor stop; the comedy play is going to be performed by ten talented actors from KL Shakespeare Players.
The classic plot revolves around Antonio, an antisemitic merchant who borrows money from Shylock to help his friend court Portia. Antonio is unable to repay the loan, so Shylock demands a pound of Antonio’s flesh. Portia, the heiress who has married Antonio’s friend, disguises herself as a lawyer and saves Antonio.
This exclusive one-night-only show comes with Malay and Chinese subtitles.

Prepare for an interactive storytelling experience complete with songs, dances, and discussions. Three actors will tell the story in English, with a touch of French thrown in at the right time.
