Starting today, 20th August 2026, Causeway Link busses will no longer take cash on board for commuters heading to Malaysia from Newton and Queen Street in Singapore.

Causeway Link stated in a Facebook post on 17th August that commuters can also pay with their cards such as Visa, Mastercard, ManjaLink or EZ-Link.

ManjaLink is a cashless payment card for Cross-Border Causeway Link busses, or selected bus routes within Johor, Malaysia. It is a contactless smart card. They can also pay using the LUGO app or single journey e-tickets.

For those intending to pay in cash, they need to purchase their ticket before boarding their bus at a ManjaLink kiosk at Queen Street, while those boarding at Newton can purchase a ManjaLink card from Causeway Link’s ground staff.

In addition to the Causeway Link busses, SBS bus service 170 is available at Queen Street for travellers going to Malaysia.

For those departing from the two terminals in Singapore, long-distance coaches also offer an additional alternative.
