Johor Would Expand More of its Potentials with Affordable Housing

Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Ir. Haji Hasni Mohammad encourages the improvement of community building and development throughout Johor as it is essential to build more affordable houses and would let more Johor citizens with less financial burden in mind to own a house during the launch of Mah Sing’s Meridin East Erica Phase 2.

Attending the event was the Mayor of Pasir Gudang City Council, Dato’ Asman Shah, Chairman of the Johor State Housing and Local Government Committee, Ayub Jamil, Chairman of SJK(C) Sim Mow Yu, Dato’ Sri Tey Kim Chai and Mah Sing Chief Executive Officer of Property Subsidiaries, Benjamin Ong.

Hasni in his officiation speech concluded the Johor state’s projects like the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC), Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) and development of local talents through Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) would expand in years to come and affordable housing for the people would help support the state’s endeavour.

He went on to say that Johor could become the main food source for the nation and the possibilities of holding a special two way link up with Singapore as the neighbouring country is opening its borders to the world.

The launch of 210 units of Erica Phase 2 was preceded by Erica Phase 1’s 155 units that were sold out. Mah Sing’s Chief Executive Officer of Property Subsidiaries, Benjamin Ong said, “The encouraging response from Erica Phase 1 demonstrates that landed property sectors are still in high demand. It also proves that demand for affordably priced, high-quality properties in strategic locations will stay strong.

Aiming to provide landed properties in Johor with an indicative price below RM500,000, Ong said Mah Sing has continuously set a new direction to build affordable range properties.

Hasni also said that in order to gain confidence from domestic and foreign investors alike, the state needs a fresh mandate directly from the people by holding the coming election that is taking place on the 12th of March 2022.
