The Johor government has opened applications for its flagship youth scholarship programme, which provides full sponsorship to top-performing SPM students to pursue degrees at the world’s top universities.
Raven Kumar, chairman of the State Unity, Heritage, and Culture Committee, stated that the Johor Youth Scholarship (BOMJ or Bantuan Orang Muda Johor) 2026 is administered by Yayasan Pelajaran Johor.
He stated in a video through his official Facebook page that the programme is aimed at students who achieved outstanding results in the 2025/2026 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examination and want to continue their studies at one of the world’s top 20 universities.
“This scholarship provides comprehensive financial support, including a pre-university A-Level preparation programme in the country prior to students continuing their studies abroad,” he stated.
Some of the top universities include; Imperial College London, Nanyang Technological University Singapore, Stanford University, University of Oxford, Harvard University, University of Cambridge, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Hong Kong, University of Chicago, ETH Zurich, National University of Singapore, Peking University, University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University, Tsinghua University, University of California Berkeley, University of Melbourne, University of New South Wales, and more.
Raven stated that applicants pursuing fields aligned with Johor’s strategic development needs would be prioritised, ensuring that graduates contribute to the state’s future growth.
He encouraged eligible young people to seize the opportunity, describing it as a “gateway for Johor students to compete on the global stage while remaining rooted in the state’s aspirations.”
The BOMJ initiative reflects Johor’s ongoing investment in human capital development, as the state strives to produce highly skilled graduates capable of driving innovation and economic growth.
