Yayasan Johor Corporation (Yayasan JCorp), in collaboration with ICP Piles and the Johor State Education Department, has launched DigiLIT Creating Future-Ready Digital Learning Environments, a targeted digital literacy initiative implemented at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sayong Pinang, Kulai, Johor to provide students with essential digital skills for future learning and career readiness.
The programme directly benefitting 65 students at SK Sayong Pinang will give them an early exposure to foundational digital competencies such as computer usage, internet navigation, and online safety.
These skills provide a solid foundation for students to confidently participate in an increasingly digital learning environment and prepare for future workplace demands.
DigiLIT 2026 builds on previous years’ digital literacy initiatives and is strengthened through strategic collaboration with ICP Piles, which provided a smart board, a tech skills workshop, and support for enhancements to the school’s digital learning facilities.
This initiative demonstrates a long-standing commitment to creating inclusive, conducive, and future-ready learning environments, particularly for students in rural communities.
The programme was officiated by Zulkurnain bin Abdul Rahman, Director of the Johor State Education Department, demonstrating the state’s education leadership’s strong commitment to advancing educational development through collaboration between the public sector, educators, and industry partners.
“Digital literacy is no longer an option; it is a necessity. Through initiatives such as DigiLIT, we aim to ensure that students, regardless of background or location, are equipped with essential digital skills that will enable them to thrive in the future,” said Dato’ Mizan Yahya, Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan JCorp.
He added that the initiative goes beyond access to technology, focusing on building confidence and readiness among students as part of their long-term educational journey.
“By strengthening digital exposure at an early stage, we are helping to reduce the technology gap and ensuring that students in rural areas are not left behind in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.”
Yayasan JCorp, the dedicated “Membela” arm of Johor Corporation (JCorp), translates the Group’s commitment to improving environmental and social well-being through impactful initiatives that expand opportunity throughout Johor and Malaysia.
