Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB) continued its 20th anniversary celebrations with the recently held IIB20 Golf Invitational 2026, bringing together its strategic and corporate partners at Forest City Golf Resort on 15th August 2026.
The event was part of a year-long series of IIB20 programmes commemorating IIB’s two-decade journey since its establishment in 2006. Anchored by the theme “20 Years of Impact”, the anniversary celebrates IIB’s achievements while reinforcing its continued commitment to Johor’s growth and the well-being of its communities.
As part of this commitment, the IIB20 Golf Invitational 2026 provided a platform to support the development of athletes in Johor. Through the collective support of IIB and its corporate partners, RM130,000 was raised to contribute to the Johor Sports Council (MSNJ) in support of the continued development of sporting talent across the state. The contribution will provide additional resources to support the training, development and pursuit of excellence of more than 1,000 athletes across the state in their respective sports.
The IIB20 Golf Invitational 2026 was made possible through the collective support of IIB and its corporate partners, reflecting a shared commitment to giving back to the community. The initiative was further strengthened by the strong support of the Johor State Government and its officials. Their collective participation and support reflect a shared commitment to nurturing local talent and contributing to Johor’s broader sporting aspirations.
The contribution was formally presented to MSNJ in a mock cheque presentation, witnessed by Haji Mohd Hairi bin Mad Shah, chairman of the Johor State Youth and Sports, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Committee, and Dato’ Idzham Mohd Hashim, President and Chief Executive Officer of IIB.
Dato’ Idzham Mohd Hashim said the anniversary was a moment not only to honour two decades of meaningful partnerships and collective achievements but also to extend the benefits of its growth to the wider community.
“The theme ‘20 Years of Impact’ holds special significance for IIB. Our role extends beyond developing projects and attracting investments. We have also sought to ensure that the progress we create translates into opportunities and tangible benefits for the communities around us.”
“The IIB20 Golf Invitational reflects this commitment. We appreciate the support of our corporate partners in extending the reach of this initiative and supporting Johor’s sporting talent. It demonstrates what we can achieve when we come together with a shared purpose.”
Since 2024, IIB has contributed approximately RM3.5 million through zakat, sponsorships and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, supporting programmes that have benefited more than 90,000 individuals and communities across Johor.
“For IIB, meaningful development is not measured solely by investment value or physical development. It is also about the opportunities we create and the difference they make in people’s lives. This is the spirit we want to carry forward as IIB enters its next chapter,” Dato’ Idzham added.
Director of the Johor Sports Council (MSNJ), Hasnul Atmam bin Othman, said collaboration between the public and private sectors plays a key role in strengthening Johor’s sports development ecosystem.
“Developing athletes requires sustained support and collaboration from all parties. The contribution from IIB and its corporate partners will support sports development programmes and the provision of sports equipment to the Johor State Sports Associations (Persatuan Sukan Negeri Johor), further strengthening the capabilities and performance of athletes under MSNJ.
“We appreciate this shared commitment to creating greater opportunities for Johor’s sporting talent to grow, improve their performance and excel in their respective sports.”
The IIB20 Golf Invitational 2026 brought together 80 participants comprising IIB’s strategic and corporate partners. It was one of several IIB20 initiatives being rolled out throughout the year, bringing together IIB’s partners and communities while carrying forward the spirit of “20 Years of Impact”.
