Chef De Partie, Lim Pei Shi demonstrated 16 varieties of handcrafted mooncakes both traditionally baked and snowskin versions. Following classic recipes using fresh, fine-quality natural ingredients with no preservatives, the mooncakes also come in an elegant packaging of glazed violet and tiffany blue colours.
My favourite among the traditional mooncake flavours would be the luxurious refined taste of Green Tea Paste with Single Yolk and Jade Custard. The traditionalists may also purchase classic flavours like Pure Lotus Paste, Lotus Paste with Single Yolk, Lotus Paste with Double Yolk, Assorted Fruits & Nuts and Red Bean Paste too.
On the other hand, the snowskin mooncakes are smaller and more colourful in appearance and offered in nine flavours including the most sought-after flavour, Durian Truffle. As a fan of the much tangier pastes like Blueberry and Orange Truffle, the burst of flavours with chewy and soft snowskin mooncake exceeded my expectations. They make the perfect gift of the season for family, friends and associates.
