Going to the food bazaar in the month of fasting is a must-do experience. Opero Hotel Southkey is hosting its own Bazaar Makan-Makan again for this year’s fasting season to reignite the food exploration, but with a touch of the hotel’s hospitality.
I was expecting a similar, wide array of food in the aisles with the guarantee of the hotel’s premium taste, just like Opero’s first bazaar concept buffet that was held last year. It surprisingly got better!
At the get go, the juicy Quzi Lamb with flavourful grains of Arabic Rice brought me straight to the Middle East, and to remain there, I had the hearty meat Shawarma, freshly made from the counter. Meanwhile, my friend enjoyed other varieties of food including the steaming Dim Sums and the cheese-filled, savoury Baked Oysters!
The aroma of the hot, beefy Rendang beckoned to me, and it went perfectly with my plate of lemang and ketupat.
The extensive dessert menu is the best part for a sweet tooth like me, and the individually-wrapped slices of Biscoff Cakes, along with the Kuih-muih, were the best way to end my meal. For dessert, my friend had the freshly assembled Rojak with a bowl of Chilled Longan.
This fasting month, you can also try the food journey at the Bazaar Makan-Makan @ Opero at RM188nett per adult and RM168nett for senior citizens, while children aged 7-12 years old can enjoy the buffet at RM88nett.
Children under the age of six eat for free, making the buffet an excellent choice for families.
