In the midst of the nationwide celebrations marking Malaysia’s 67th National Day on 31st August 2024, Columbia Asia Hospital-Iskandar Puteri (CAH-IP) experienced its own special joy, welcoming the birth of two newborns on this significant day.
Tee Wee Wee, 23, a first-time mother working in the manufacturing industry from Taman Pulai Utama, Johor, joyfully welcomed a healthy baby girl, weighing 2.54 kg, at 4:03 pm.
Her husband, Wang Wei Wei, 34, who is also employed in the manufacturing industry, expressed profound happiness and pride that their daughter’s birthday will forever coincide on Malaysia’s National Day celebrations.
Another heartwarming story unfolded as Nurhaniza Syamira Zainal Abidin, 32, a staff nurse from Kampung Melayu, Gelang Patah, Johor, gave birth to her second child, a baby boy weighing 3.54 kg, at 4:35 PM.
Despite the original due date of 1st September 2024, Nurhaniza’s husband, Muhammad Shafiq Salleh, 29, an army officer, shared his gratitude and joy for the early arrival of their son. The couple expressed their deep appreciation to CAH-IP for ensuring a smooth and safe delivery.
Both the deliveries were complication-free, thanks to the expert care provided by Dr Rohaini Md. Jonit, Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, Dr Quek Yek Song, Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and Dr. Razlina Johari, Consultant Paediatrician. Supported by a dedicated team of skilled midwives and nurses, the hospital ensured the safety and well-being of both mothers and their newborns.
