Johor obtained its first gold medal at the Malaysian Games (SUKMA) XX MSN 2022 through Siti Nur Adibah Akma who topped the women’s 30KM individual time trial cycling held in Bandar Sri Sendayan, Seremban. The silver medalist from the SEA Games in Hanoi finished first with a fast cycle time of 44:25.80.
Commenting on her success, Adibah said, “I was surrounded by positive people and it was the main factor for me to go down without pressure and be enthusiastic to do my best today”.
“I would like to dedicate this gold medal to my family, myself and certainly to the state of Johor,” added Adibah.
Nur Aiman Rosli, another Johor cyclist, fulfilled the prediction by winning his second personal gold medal at the SUKMA Games.
Competing in his favourite event, he managed to record 53 minutes 08.865 seconds to secure the second gold medal for the Johor contingent.
“It is true that I aim to win the gold medal in this event. And this is for the state of Johor as well as the individuals who always support me,” he said.
For the record, this is the last appearance for Aiman who is also the bronze medal winner of the SEA Games in Hanoi last May after having performed four times in the SUKMA Games since the 2014 edition in Perlis.
