The Johor state government through the Johor State Health Department (JKNJ) has introduced the COVID-19 Advocacy Leaders Initiative Programme (I-PAC) in an effort to ensure compliance, and cultivate the new norms to be followed by the people of Johor.
Menteri Besar of Johor, Datuk Ir. Haji Hasni Mohammad said that through this programme, grassroots leaders will play a role to help JKNJ and enforcement agencies in the state to give advocacy on cultivating new norms to the people.
At the same time, JKNJ has also launched the Virtual COVID-19 Assessment Centre (V-CAC) initiative which aims to facilitate the management of COVID-19 positive patients.
“Through this initiative, the search for close contacts can be done in addition to reducing the physical presence of individuals in all 111 COVID-19 Assessment Centres (CAC) operating throughout Johor,” he said during the 4th session meeting of the 14th Johor State Assembly (DUN).
Strategic cooperation in efforts to ensure the spread of the COVID-19 and public awareness of the pandemic was also strengthened through strategic measures at the implementation stage with relevant agencies.
Among the agencies involved are the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA) and the Civil Defense Force (APM).
“Government agencies such as the District Office, head of villages and the Unity Department assisted by Southern Volunteers are also mobilised through the programmes that encourage the registration of vaccination programmes in the state,” he added.
