UEM Sunrise Berhad has officially launched the Gerbang Nusajaya Interchange, enhancing direct access to the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link Expressway, besides strengthening connectivity within Iskandar Puteri, a key growth node under Flagship B of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ).
The interchange officially opened for public use on Saturday, 13th December 2025, at 12:00am.
The launch of the interchange was officiated by Dato’ Mohd Jafni Md Shukor, Chairman of the Johor State Housing and Local Government Committee. Also present was Hasrin Kamal Hashim, Mayor of the Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP).
Located at the western gateway of Iskandar Puteri and approximately five kilometres from the Sultan Abu Bakar Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex, the interchange provides direct connectivity to the Second Link Expressway.
It also enhances access to surrounding residential, commercial and industrial areas, including Nusajaya Tech Park (NTP) and the Southern Industrial and Logistics Clusters (SILC), which collectively support a large and growing workforce.
The RM166.4 million project, which was jointly developed by Nusajaya Rise Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of UEM Sunrise, and Leisure Farm Corporation Sdn Bhd, is centred around an elevated interchange with a trumpet design.
It is complemented by upgraded local road networks and better ingress and egress routes around Gelang Patah and Gerbang Nusajaya. The investment supports the JS-SEZ by acting as a catalyst for international, social, and economic connectivity.
With an estimated 15-minute commute to Tuas Checkpoint in Singapore, the new interchange aims to improve road safety, ease traffic flow, and enable dependable travel times.
The interchange is essential for lowering logistical obstacles, improving cross-border access, and making Johor more competitive for talent, companies, and investors.
Johor recorded the highest investment value in Malaysia as of the third quarter of this year, at RM91.1 billion, demonstrating strong investor confidence in the state’s growth trajectory.

The interchange forms a core part of Gerbang Nusajaya, UEM Sunrise’s 4,471-acre integrated township with a long-term gross development value (GDV) of RM45.0 billion.
It connects established neighbourhoods with upcoming phases, including more than 2,900 residential units and commercial components scheduled up to 2026. Recent market trends point to sustained demand, with the final phases of Aspira Hills fully taken up within minutes of launch, following strong interest from owner-occupiers and cross-border professionals.
Industrial activity anchored by NTP continues to grow, supporting high-tech manufacturing, logistics, automation and digital-economy operations. The improved interchange enhances operational efficiency for businesses and complements ongoing state and federal initiatives to strengthen cross-border links and attract quality investments.
With the opening of the Gerbang Nusajaya Interchange, UEM Sunrise is reinforcing Iskandar Puteri’s role as Flagship B of the JS-SEZ.
