Tourism Johor and Yayasan Warisan Johor Hosts a Majestic Raya Celebration

The joint celebration is their first work in many more to come towards Visit Johor 2020

Tourism Johor and Yayasan Warisan Johor jointly hosted a Raya celebration themed ‘Majestic Raya’ yesterday at Kompleks Warisan Abu Bakar with the presence of Menteri Besar Johor, Datuk Dr Sahruddin Bin Jamal with State Secretary, Azmi Bin Rohani, Exco Liow Cai Tung, Family and Community Development Chairwoman and Mohd Khuzzan Abu Bakar, Culture and Heritage Committee Chairman.

The Raya celebration hosted about 40 children from Setanggi Orphanage, Johor Bahru and they were given duit raya on behalf of Tourism Johor and Yayasan Warisan Johor by Dr Sahruddin and Azmi Rohani, witnessed by Liow and Mohd Khuzzan.

Known as the face of Johor’s culture and tradition, the whole unit of both Yayasan Warisan Johor and Tourism Johor had joined together on stage in which each of their departments and units staffs performed one by one, starting with coaches and trainers from Yayasan Warisan Johor.

The event is an early announcement of the two organisations’ joint venture to make the upcoming Visit Johor 2020 aspiration and vision successful.

The ‘Majestic Johor’ theme is inspired by their aspiration to make touring around the state of Johor even more exciting and enticing as the domestic and foreign tourists would be discovering and be in the know of the hidden gems in Johor.

The word ‘Majestic’ in use is derived from the word ‘Ta’zim’ of ‘Johor Darul Ta’zim’; as it brings the meaning of glorious to be a Johorean as the people of Johor represents the state’s rich variant culture and tradition.

The celebration ended earlier as the MB Johor and his envoy made their journey to Pasir Gudang, to give a statement on the toxic gas issue that has caused several schools in the area to shut down.
