Expected to increase tourists to Johor, state’s Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz vows to ease congestion issues at the international borders within the state

Tiong Nam Group has announced the launch of the 1975 AVENUE & HOTEL, an aviation-themed lifestyle hub downsouth located in Kempas, Johor Bahru. Occupying over 19,000 sqm of the integrated township, it presents a 38-room hotel. The all-suite cockpits and cabins feature a ’70s vintage and grandiose interior and offer guests to access a stunning man-made beach surrounded by a resort-style garden that creates a holiday mood.

The unique feature of the hotel is its two actual Boeing 747s on the ground, where “passengers” can enjoy various activities surrounding it including a stay in the first-class custom-crafted planes.

Slated to open by end of the year 2023, the launch was officiated by Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Onn Ghazi in the presence of with Johor Tourism, Environment, Heritage and Culture Committee chairman K. Raven Kumar.

“Johor must get ready to make use of this opportunity as best as it can since the COVID-19 pandemic that struck us over 2 years ago, and look forward to more tourists and visitors that will travel to Malaysia. But we are also aware of the problems that have arisen as a result that must be resolved for the convenience of travellers who enter Johor through the state’s international entrance,” said Onn Hafiz.

“The state government will keep ramping up its collaboration with Singapore to reduce the problem of road congestion. In addition, a study is being done to look into a ferry service between Puteri Harbour and Tuas. Meanwhile, ferry service between Desaru and Singapore has already commenced giving tourists a convenient choice of travel.”

“God willing, all of these efforts will make it easier for visitors to travel, whether domestic or international and will pique their interest in Johor as a Malaysian tourist destination,” he concluded his speech.
