One of Malaysia’s current challenges is youth unemployment. Young people face the “heat” in the labour market due to lack of job-relevant skills. Fresh graduates still have to wait for months before securing an employment, and since the COVID-19 pandemic, many are still unemployed. In line with this, the Southern Leadership Bootcamp has been launched and will be held on the 6th and 7th January 2023.

Southern Leadership is a youth leadership programme that aims to strive for better youth employment and to be part of an inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all. The main objective of this programme is to deliver the best and most comprehensive leadership development experience to the youth through practical challenges and skill-building activities that are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

With the tagline “Blooming Aspiration, Infinite Inspirations,” AIESEC aims to combat the rise of youth unemployment in Malaysia by acting as the connecting bridge between graduate talents at universities and corporations through networking opportunities, engagement with speakers in corporate-held workshops, and developing leadership potential as well as setting one’s own career path. The topics range from business field, talent development to leadership.
