“Terima Kasih Guru” Appreciates Johor Bahru Teachers en masse

The celebration marked the nation’s Teacher’s Day at district level

A celebration for teachers from Johor Bahru district took place at the Tasek Central’s hall in Taman Ungku Tun Aminah, Johor Bahru. The event was jointly organised by Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Johor Bahru and Kumpulan Penggerak Ibu Bapa Komuniti (KPIBK) Johor Bahru.

This year’s event acknowledged the teachers’ thoughtful works for the children together with numerous other departments, governments, non-government and private corporations.

Shaharuddin bin Saari, the Chairman for Majlis Pelancaran Gerakan Massa for Johor Bahru District cum Officer of Johor Bahru District Education Office (PPD) said, “The annual celebration on district and state levels are parallel to the Education Ministry’s vision and aspiration in focusing on the values of happiness, love and mutual respect”.

Audience chimes Terima Kasih Guru during officiation

Mayor of Iskandar Puteri City Council, Dato’ Haji Adib Azhari bin Daud was present to officiate the celebration. He mentioned that it’s a visualisation of the federal government’s commitment in acknowledging the teachers’ sweat and tears since forever and further proved that educators have always been a meaningful and prominent figure in all of our hearts for their undivided contribution.

Teachers Day in Malaysia is annually celebrated on 16th May and the 2019 National Teacher’s Day tagline is “Guru, Obor Hemah Menyinari Pertiwi,” meaning “A teacher is a prudent torch in enlightening the nation”.
