Four hospitals in Johor are receiving personal protection equipment (PPE) for the use of medical frontliners in the fight against COVID-19 from Raja Zarith Sofiah of Johor Foundation (YRZSNJ), a non-profit organisation founded in 2012 when the Sultan of Johor, DYMM Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, and his consort, DYMM Raja Zarith Sofiah binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah, consented to a proposal by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, in cooperation with the Royal Johor Institution.

“The funding for this was partly from the RM1 million donations we received from the Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation last week. In due time, we will be delivering more aid and assistance to our frontliners,” said YRZSNJ Chief Executive Officer, Hishamuddin Abdul Rahim.

HM The Permaisuri of Johor, Raja Zarith Sofiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah said the bulk of the donation would go towards acquiring all necessary protection gear for healthcare front-liners and medical machines for hospitals around the country.

RM150,000 worth of PPEs with 1,050 units were distributed to the hospitals accordingly, with 250 of them for Hospital Sultan Ismail, 400 for Hospital Sultanah Aminah, 150 for Hospital Permai in Johor Bahru and 250 for Hospital Enche Besar Hajah Khalsom in Kluang.
