Queen of Johor Celebrates Hari Raya with 50 Cancer Patients under TLJCF

The joyous celebration in the presence of Her Majesty, Raja Zarith Sofiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah was to give the patients wonderful memories that may help boost their morale; consistent with the foundation's establishment after the compassionate late prince, to help ease strain on cancer patients and their families

Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah, Queen of Johor graced the Hari Raya celebration ceremony with cancer fighters, organised by Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation (TLJCF) at the Johor Bahru City Council Tower (MBJB), Bukit Senyum, Johor Bahru.

Accompanying the presence of Her Majesty was Datin Sharmin Fazlina Mohd Shukor, wife of the Johor Menteri Besar and Puan Sri Datin Dr Hajah Noor Azizah Abdul Latif, wife of the Johor State Government Secretary.

The ceremony was also attended by Dato’ Haji Ismail Karim, Member of the TLJCF Board of Directors, Dato’ Dr. Khairi Yakub, Member of the Board of Directors of TLJCF, Dato’ Haji Mohd. Noorazam Dato’ Haji Osman, Mayor of MBJB, Dato’ Mohamed Perang Haji Musa, Executive Director of TLJCF, Mohd Ikmal Izam Zaini, Chief Executive Officer of TLJCF and other guests of honour.

A total of 50 cancer fighters aged 3 to 80 years and their relatives attended the celebrations, and each cancer fighter received a gift of cash and Hari Raya cakes from Her Majesty before enjoying an extensive Raya feast.

“This event not only aimed to deliver donations to cancer fighters and celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri with them, but to also allow them to share their experiences with each other,” said TLJCF in its statement.

The directors and staff from the Sultanah Aminah Johor Bahru Hospital, Sultan Ismail Hospital Johor Bahru, Permai Hospital, Johor, Eche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital, Kluang, Segamat Hospital, Sultanah Fatimah Hospital, Muar, and Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital, Batu Pahat were among those present.

TLJCF also invited Waqaf An-Nur Corporation, Jishan Foodbank, Raja Zarith Sofiah of Johor Foundation, Sultan Ibrahim Johor Foundation, Johor Public Transport Corporation, Southern XMedia, Infinite Loop Media, and Best FM, all of which that have helped the foundation with cancer awareness programmes and visits.
