Petrosains Sdn. Bhd. officially launched Petrosains Tech4All 2025, a nationwide initiative designed to strengthen digital and STEM-related competencies among Orang Asli and Peribumi school communities by equipping teachers with the skills and tools to deliver more engaging and impactful STEM learning experiences on 26th April 2025.

The launch ceremony was officiated by Zainal bin Abas, Deputy Director-General of Education Malaysia (School Operations Sector), at Institut Aminuddin Baki, Genting Highlands.

Held over three days and two nights, the programme adopted a train-the-trainers model, focusing on capacity building for 88 teachers from schools serving Orang Asli and Peribumi students. These educators underwent immersive training in robotics, coding, and other digital tools designed to enhance their teaching practices and spark greater interest in STEM among their students.

“Through Petrosains Tech4All 2025, we are not just offering skills training; we are powering meaningful change in STEM education for communities that are often left behind. This programme is designed to equip teachers with both the tools and the confidence to unlock their students’ potential. We want them to see that innovation and technology are not out of reach, but well within their grasp. Our vision is for these empowered educators to become catalysts of change to nurture a new generation of thinkers, builders, and problem-solvers who will help shape the future of our nation,” said Ezarisma Azni Mohamad, Chief Executive Officer of Petrosains.

First introduced in 2024, Petrosains Tech4All reached 376 students across nine states, exposing them to meaningful, hands-on STEM learning. The programme saw significant success when teams from SK Kampong Layau (Johor), SK Sri Permai (Kelantan), and SK Permatang Keledang (Pahang) went on to represent Malaysia at the 26th International Robot Olympiad in Busan, Korea. The team from SK Permatang Keledang brought home a gold medal in the Innovation Robotics category.

As the social impact arm of PETRONAS in STEM education, Petrosains is committed to creating equitable access to quality learning experiences. Petrosains Tech4All 2025 reinforces this commitment by promoting diversity, inclusivity, and long-term impact, especially among marginalised and underserved communities. The initiative also supports national education goals under the Malaysia Education Blueprint (PPPM) — particularly Initiative #57, which focuses on empowering Orang Asli and Peribumi communities, and contributes to the objectives of the National Digital Education Policy by reducing the digital divide and accelerating digital readiness in rural schools.

Through inclusive STEM programmes like Petrosains Tech4All, Petrosains continues to nurture curiosity, inspire lifelong learning, and empower the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers across Malaysia.
