In line with the aspirations of MADANI Malaysia in ensuring that the well-being of the community is guaranteed and that it has a good level of health, the Public Service Department (JPA) through INTAN Kampus Wilayah Terengganu (IKWAS) for the first time organised the 20th Public Service Prime Ministerial Council Run (MAPPA XX) 2025 Southern Region.
This run is the finale to the organisation of the 20th MAPPA Run Programme for the Year 2025.
The MAPPA XX Run 2025 Southern Region is jointly-organised with the JB Neon Recreational Night programme, and the Johor Bahru Municipal Council (MBJB) has received strong support from the Johor State Government.
This run also received synergy from various strategic partners in line with the “ASSOCIATED” approach, which is “whole of-nation” and “INTEGRATED” which is “whole-of government” including the Negeri Sembilan State Secretary’s Office, Melaka State Secretary’s Office, Johor State Health Department, Johor State Agriculture Department, Kluang Prison Department, Kluang Municipal Council, Johor, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan State Administrative and Diplomatic Officers Association (PPTD).
Meanwhile, the strategic collaboration of the private sector that also supported the organisation of this run is Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), Affin Bank, WARDAH, Hektar Reit, Decathlon, SWCorp and several other sponsors. The togetherness of various Government and Private agencies in organising this programme is a reflection of the close cooperation that is strong in supporting the national agenda centered on MADANI values.
The encouraging participation from various levels of society received welcoming support from Tan Sri Shamsul Azri bin Abu Bakar, Chief Secretary to the Government. Also present were Datuk Dr. Mohd. Bakhari bin Ismail, Deputy Director General of Public Services (Development) represented the Director General of Public Services, Datuk Dr. Mohd Zabri bin Yusoff, Director of INTAN and received strong support from Dato’ Haji Asman Shah bin Abd Rahman, Secretary to the Johor Government and Haji Mohd Farid bin Hassan, Secretary of MBJB who represented the Mayor of Johor Bahru.
The MAPPA XX Run 2025 Southern Region and JB Neon which took place at the Johor Bahru City Square (MBJB) involved the participation of more than 2,800 participants, including civil servants and the community from throughout the Southern Region, namely the states of Johor, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan.
This run also involved special participation from 55 Disabled Persons (OKU) from the PIPI Literate Association and the Johor Bahru Disabled Persons Support Association.
The run which flagged off at 8.45pm was officiated by Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, Chief Secretary to the Government for two (2) running categories, namely the 5KM Fun Run and the 1.5KM Fun Walk. To enliven the celebration of the Independence Month, the MAPPA Bintang Kemilau Competition themed MAPPA Semarak Merdeka was organised for the 1.5KM Fun Walk participants.
More than just a leisure event, the MAPPA XX Run 2025 Southern Region and JB Neon has become a symbol of the commitment of civil servants and the community to remain healthy, active and mentally fit for a more sustainable future for the country. Cultivating a healthy lifestyle is also translated by ensuring overall physical, mental and emotional health through cultivating the enjoyment of working every day in the office.
Supporting the aspiration as a leading public sector learning institution towards reforming the public service to a more dynamic one in line with today’s trends, IKWAS has taken the initiative to introduce the use of Virtual Reality (VR) technology in learning activities.
The implementation of training using Virtual Reality (VR) technology, which is learning that is transformed into more interactive, immersive and effective as a complement to conventional methods.
This initiative is in line with INTAN’s aspiration to remain a leader in the development of civil servant competencies in the digital era, in line with the public service reform agenda and the formation of world-class human capital.
The collaborative organisation of this programme strengthens commitment and empowers well-being and a healthy lifestyle, in line with the aspiration to provide better quality and high-impact public service delivery to the people.
In addition to the running event, various activities such as booth exhibitions involving various government agencies were also organised.
A total of 17 exhibitors involved included the Johor State Road Transport Department (JPJ), Johor State Health Department, Johor State Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Election Commission (SPR), Johor State Registration Department, Johor State Youth and Sports Department and various other agencies involved.
The Rahmah MADANI Sale Programme was also held to provide participants and the community with opportunities to obtain daily necessities with special discount offers.
Programmes like this bridge a strong relationship between the people and government institutions, thus encouraging active participation in a more open and comprehensive atmosphere.
The 2025 MAPPA XX Run Southern Region and JB Neon is not just a recreational event, but a strategic arena that raises national aspirations through the participation of civil servants, private industry and local communities. It fosters the values of health, togetherness and patriotism in line with Malaysia MADANI and the Public Service Reform Agenda.
Collaborative implementation across agencies and industry sectors creates high synergy, strengthens governance, strengthens strategic cooperation, and creates healthy interactions between the government and the people.
This event serves as a platform for policy communication, community unification and the manifestation of the spirit of nationalism in conjunction with the National Month celebration.
Overall, the MAPPA XX Run 2025 Southern Region and JB Neon is not just a physical step, but a strategic step in building a nation, namely a journey of joint transformation towards a developed and sustainable nation.
