KPJ Bandar Dato’ Onn Provides Influenza Prevention for the Frontliners

As pandemic hits, the new hospital vaccinate media practitioners to help safeguard the nation

KPJ Bandar Dato Onn Specialist Hospital (KPBDO) hosted a complimentary Influenza vaccination and health checkup session for 14 media practitioners in Johor on 28th August as a form of appreciation to the media frontliners during the fight of COVID-19 pandemic.

The media practitioners were from BERNAMA, RTM, Berita Harian, Harian Metro, Malaysia Nanban, The Iskandarian and Best FM.

KPJBDO’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Noor Haslina Harun said in her opening speech that it is important for the hospital to strengthen the relationship between the one year young institution with the Johor media before officiating the programme.

“The service and sacrifice of the media acting as the frontliners during this COVID-19 pandemic is just as important as hospital personnel, policemen, soldiers and other government agencies by committing to keep the nation updated with the latest information on the pandemic situation. Therefore, we feel that this programme is an appropriate gesture of appreciation for the media,” said Noor Haslina.

A tour around the 26th KPJ hospital in Malaysia and the 6th and latest to open in Johor since 19th February 2019, was conducted by Operation Manager, Nor Arfah Arshad, right after the said health checkup and vaccination session. The hospital introduced its physiotherapy department’s facility that was designed by their in-house physiotherapists themselves, as well as the cardiac department which is complete with observatory machine along with CT Scan and MRI machines that is also available for concerned patients.

Previously, KPJBDO had introduced their paediatrics’ department by organising a complimentary mass circumcision programme for children of age as a part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) effort.

KPJBDO encourages the culture of less waste by going paperless and cashless. Interested parties could book appointments or any business related to KPJ Hospitals through their smartphone application, ‘KPJ Connect’ that was launched since 2018.
