Tourism Johor has launched the Phase II – Marketplace for its application, Johor Tourism Interchange (JTI) which was first launched in November 2021 to encourage domestic tourism and then widen its purpose by signing an MoU with Fraser Place Puteri Harbour, Pinetree Marina Resort and Hard Rock Cafe Puteri Harbour in April 2022.
Raven Kumar Krishnasamy, State Tourism, Environment and Heritage Committee chairman in his speech before officiating the launch said that the application would have five phases in total to complete, and is set to become the next super app for tourists to refer on Johor’s tourism.
“With the app that is comprehensive of the state’s tourism product, it would help increase confidence in people (to patronise the places),” he added, referring to the consumers’ trend of consulting the internet before purchasing any products or services.
The newly launched app is an improvement over the previous version, with a new user interface that provides a much more user-friendly browsing experience, as well as free vouchers for shoppers to redeem, with the objective of becoming the next super app for domestic and international tourists planning to visit Johor.
“We have received a lot of support and enquiries from industry players as everyone is looking forward to promoting their packages and offerings through our social media campaign,” said Mohd Fairuz Iskandar Abd Aziz, CEO of Johor Tourism Interchange (JTI).
A nationwide social media contest that would run for 3-months-long from July to September 2022; the ‘Majestic Johor Social Media Contest’ with over RM50,000 worth of prizes was also launched on the same day. More information on the contest could be found on JTI Facebook page.
