The Johor government will monitor the implementation of Sekolah Rintis Bangsa Johor (SRBJ) every three to six months to ensure that all plans and implementations are consistent with the state’s education transformation goals.
Dr Muhammad Naqib Md Ghazali, the Exco of Johor Education and Information, stated that periodic monitoring is important because SRBJ is a strategic initiative that represents hope for the future of education and the formation of the Bangsa Johor generation.
He stated that the first phase’s implementation, which has now entered its first year, has yielded positive results, including improvements in infrastructure provision and teacher and student acceptance of the new learning approach.
“I genuinely believe that Sekolah Rintis Bangsa Johor is important because it represents the aspirations of the students and the country as these are the ones who will face the next generation or the world to come,” he told reporters after visiting SRBJ at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seri Kota Puteri 2 and Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Seri Kota Puteri 4.
According to him, the state government will continue to strengthen the learning ecosystem by providing STEM-based educational facilities like 3D printers, Arduino, robotics, and autonomous systems.
Furthermore, the Bilingual Programme (DLP) will be expanded to improve English proficiency while also strengthening Science and Mathematics learning.
Meanwhile, Dr Muhammad Naqib stated that teachers who received training in Singapore provided positive feedback after successfully applying the learning methods taught at SRBJ.
SRBJ is an educational transformation initiative inspired by Tunku Mahkota Ismail, with four pilot schools previously selected: Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Seri Kota Puteri 4, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seri Kota Puteri 2 in Pasir Gudang, and SK Tasek Utara and SMK Tasek Utara in Johor Bahru.
