Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), the nine-time Super League champions, will donate the proceeds from their Super League home matches this season to flood victims in Johor.

JDT CEO Alistair Edwards stated that the Tunku Mahkota of Johor (TMJ), Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, who also owns the Southern Tigers, has directed that proceeds from the ticket sales for matches held at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri until the end of Ramadan be channelled to the flood victims.

“This involves Super League matches against Kelantan (11 March), Sabah (31 March), Kedah (9 April) and the FA Cup tie against PDRM (14 April).

“All the funds will be channelled to the flood victims through the district offices in Johor,” he said in a post on JDT’s official Facebook page, Johor Southern Tigers.

After winning their first three matches, JDT currently leads the Super League standings with nine points, the same as Sabah, who is second on goal difference.

As of 2 p.m. on 9th March 2023, the number of flood victims in Johor had decreased slightly to 44,780 from 45,048 at 8 a.m.

Six people have died as a result of the disaster, which began on 1st March.
