Senior Assistant Commissioner Hoo Chuan Huat, who was appointed as the new Acting Deputy Chief of Police of Johor, took office in early February, replacing Deputy Commissioner Abdul Latif Minhad, who retired on a mandatory retirement.

Johor Police Chief Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsat congratulated Hoo, stating that his appointment was based on his experience, service record, and authority in leadership and organisational management.

He is confident that with an integrity-based, inclusive, and professional leadership style, Hoo could maintain excellence and strengthen the Johor Contingent Police Force.

“As the saying goes, leadership is about setting an example rather than issuing orders. I believe that all Johor police officers support your leadership and are willing to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of the people and the state’, he said in his speech at the Johor Deputy Chief of Police Handover Ceremony at the Johor Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK).

He also expressed gratitude for Abdul Latif’s contributions during his tenure as Johor’s Deputy Chief of Police.

Throughout his tenure, Abdul Latif has demonstrated firm yet prudent leadership, as well as principled yet people-oriented behaviour.

“His diverse experience, wisdom in decision-making, and unwavering commitment have significantly contributed to the state’s stability, security, and harmony,” he added.
