Feast on local Laksa Johor served by the chef himself

It is a fresh experience for me to dine in at Amansari Residence Resort Seri Alam as it is a further drive up for me, but it was well worth it after coming home with my heart and belly full!

I was mesmerised by the full-blown Hari Raya decorations with a taste of kampung style because every stall was carefully prepared inside the Grand Ballroom that is located beside the main lobby entrance level. I am telling you, the walk is very much needed as you are preparing your body to experience everything big!

Right from the start, Chef Aris’ special dish, the Gearbox Soup caused a “commotion” amongst the diners because the joint bones in the soup were so large from the cow instead of the usual lamb or mutton! It was so easy to pick up the collagen as it melts into the savoury and flavourful soup in the large porcelain bowl that retains its heat.

The resort’s special – Gearbox soup

While I was enjoying the gearbox soup, my friend who is a connoisseur of kampung fruits and fritters delightfully brought over some banana fritters that are made of the ‘tanduk’ type. It is sought after by locals who grow fruits back in their hometown as it gives you the taste of savouriness with a hint of sweetness, fried to perfection. I liked it with the ‘sambal kicap’ just like the Johoreans way.

Don’t miss out on the serving of Gulai Kawah

Do make room for Laksa Johor, Gulai Kawah, Kambing Golek, Ikan Bakar Sambal, Butter Prawns, local bazaar favourites like Murtabak, Roti John and more.

Butter Prawns with curry leaf is our table’s favourite paired with plain white rice

I also tried the Kurma Milk, made with careful measurement of ingredients as it was creamy with just the right amount of dates, perfect for the fasting season to start with before hitting the main cuisine.

All the fresh fruits that you can have for some vitamins
