Flood Victims in Johor: What Would Happen to Them?

The Johor State Government will find the best ways to look after the welfare of flood victims affected in several districts in the state. Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Ir. Haji Hasni Mohammad said, the government will be giving their best effort to ensure that the Flood Relief Centre (PPS) is equipped with complete basic necessities.

“I hope the flood victims will be patient in facing this challenge. Do not worry; the government will take care of the welfare of the families housed in temporary evacuation centres. At the same time, I hope the public will cooperate with the relevant departments while at the temporary evacuation centre,” he said.

Earlier, the Johor Menteri Besar paid a visit at several PPS located in Kota Tinggi, namely PPS Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Taman Kota Jaya, Sekolah Menengah Agama (SMA) Taman Kota Jaya, Sekolah kebangsaan (SK) Taman Kota Jaya and SK Laksamana.

Also present with him was Kota Tinggi District Officer, Tuan Haji Farizal Ismail.

Hasni then visited PPS Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Layang located in Simpang Renggam district to visit the affected victims in the area.

The flood that hit the state of Johor affected eight districts involving 6,991 victims from 1,841 families until noon 4th January 2021.
