The world’s largest entrepreneurship event dubbed the “Olympics” for venture capitalists, startups and technopreneurs – Create@Alibaba Cloud Global Startup Contest 2021 (Create@Alibaba) hopes to add value to the local community by providing this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for local SMEs to not only survive but also grow as the pandemic lingers in Malaysia for the second year with a seemingly endless stay.
This year’s edition of Create@Alibaba is organised by Malaysia’s Alibaba Cloud Innovation Centre, coordinated by Alibaba Cloud Partner – Handsprofit and strategic partner BIG WHEEL, co-organiser BIG WHEEL & MyLives.
Malaysia’s Alibaba Cloud Innovation Centre built the platform for inventive entrepreneurs to shine internationally with their original ideas and expand their businesses outside of China.
Organising Chairman, Michael Chang said, “As the pandemic lingers in Malaysia, we hope to create value among the local community by bringing this rare opportunity to local businesses to not only survive this storm but to grow in it! With Malaysia being the only country authorised to run this contest in the ASEAN region, we’re proud to create this platform for innovative entrepreneurs where they shine internationally with their unique ideas and bring their businesses overseas as well.”
Along with the pitch contest, there will be a virtual exhibition expo open for SMEs and startups where each booth could conduct a live broadcast and connect with real-time potential clients and customers.
“There is an additional advantage during the campaign as we have a Virtual Exhibition Expo to let SMEs and startups showcase from offline to online. It is a golden opportunity to be exposed to the global market,” said Ian Thai, the contest’s main coordinator.
