Joint CSR effort by Tobe Property Sdn Bhd and PDDJ

Offering medical screening and consultation to the elderly residents at an old folks’ home is both beneficial and meaningful especially when they don’t have the means to undergo consultations on their own.

Datuk Teo Shiok Fu JP, Executive Director of Tobe Property Sdn Bhd and Dr. Ng Kim Fong, President of Persatuan Doktor-Doktor Johor (PDDJ) had organised a medical camp to help 81 residents at Persatuan Kebajikan Prihatin Kuan Yin in Taman Bukit Kempas, Johor Bahru.

Datuk Teo and his friends, Tony Ong, Teh Kai Chuan and Jacob Lim joined Dr. Ng and members of PDDJ to help these elderly residents, many of whom are bed-ridden.

The residents were attended to by 10 doctors and 2 medical students at the 3 medical stations set up in the Home’s compound. They had their medical screening (blood pressure test and blood sugar test) done first, followed by a medical consultation. There was a team who attended to those who were bed-ridden in their rooms.

Besides the medical camp, food items and basic necessities were donated to the Home. Each resident were presented with Tiger Balm ointment and medicated oils and face towels sponsored by Tiger Balm (M) Sdn Bhd and Eurostar Tractors (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.

Last year, Datuk Teo had visited the Home as the then President of Rotary Club of Johor Bahru for RY2017-18, and this year’s visit was through his personal initiative. The society will be grateful if more individuals and corporate entities can also do their part to help the needy and the underprivileged in the community.
