A father has always been likened to the patriarchal figure in a family that provides for the home and ensuring everyone has enough necessities in life. Over the years, the hard working fathers would eventually drain out of joy and energy, and would’ve probably forgotten how to experience happiness.
Understanding how important it is to be happy always, the Happy and Joyous Club Johor Bahru, 2014’s Iskandar Malaysia Social Hero Awards (IMSHA) winner in the category of ‘Social Innovator’, hosted a special celebration on international Father’s Day through a Zoom webinar with jam-packed fun activities for an hour joined by over 50 participants from all over the world.
The founder of Laughter Yoga, Dr Madan Kataria was also present in the session to relay a Father’s Day message laced with practising laughter.
Among the activities that were held includes leading all men to dance, sharing tales of fatherhood and grandfatherhood, singing and laughing exercise. The session also shared about the things they learnt during MCO, storytelling, and the Zoom session ended with more singing and laughing. The recorded sessions can be viewed here.
The Happy and Joyous Club Johor Bahru holds their laughter yoga sessions through Zoom on a daily basis and is open for all to join. The organisation is taking team building or exclusive group sessions and you can get in touch with this happy bunch on their Facebook page.
