The association is a non-profit organisation managed by Loh Kwee Hi since 2003 to provide shelter to 80 elderly people (38 Males & 42 Females) from ages 50 to 100 years old. From becoming a volunteer to managing the home full time, Loh took up the courage to build this shelter home for the elderly after they were evicted from their first building in Skudai. Her passion and strong determination drove her to take on the many challenges that she faced.

The volunteer staffs started off by creating a cleaner and brighter environment for the Chinese New Year celebration and concluded by putting up festive decorations. Some of the staffs even fed the old folks who are unable to feed themselves.

Besides handing over a cheque for RM2,000 and other essential items like diapers, detergent and beverages, red money packets and mandarin oranges were also distributed to all the residents as a sign of blessing and honour.

“Our presence brought much happiness to the senior citizens who are always looking forward for someone to visit them and spend time listening to them. We hope that our effort here will help to fill the home with warmth and joy while spreading the festive spirit. The visit is also an opportunity for the team to volunteer and contribute in social work,” said KK Wong, the Group Director of UMLand Townships cum Seri Austin CEO.
