Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas invites guests with a taste for fiery flavours to experience the exotic cuisine of Sri Lanka. From 10 to 17 November 2023, Nuwan Nishantha Hettiarachchi, Executive Sous Chef at Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort in Sri Lanka, will be presenting his country’s culinary treasures at Turmeric Restaurant.

For starters, guests can indulge in Crispy Fried Jackfruit and Manioc Cutlet with a zesty curry leaf sauce, fresh tomato and onion salad; velvety Pumpkin Soup infused with cinnamon, coconut milk, and fried curry leaves; succulent Prawn and Calamari tossed with fragrant herbs and spiced curry yoghurt; or crunchy Red Lentil and Prawn Fritters with a fiery green chilli sambal.

Main course highlights include Ceylon Crab Curry, a hearty dish of fresh crab cooked in a spicy coconut gravy and served with aromatic garlic rice and traditional accompaniments; and Tangalle Chicken Curry, a flavourful dish of fall-of-the-bone chicken cooked in a rich and spicy sauce and garnished with curry leaves and green chillies. Guests will also be able to try Mutton Kottu, a stir-fried dish of shredded roti, tender mutton, spices, and vegetables; soft and flaky Coconut Flatbread paired with creamy dhal curry and assorted spicy sambals; and Southern-Style Beef Curry served with fluffy Yellow Rice and Dhal Curry.

Sweet treats will come in the form of silky Buffalo Curd Topped with Passionfruit Compote; Coconut and Jaggery Pancake served with refreshing Wood Apple Shooter; and Tropical Fruit Salad with ice cream.
