All big events in my life are always planned over tea and finger food which is also a great way to catch up with friends or family, and in line with this, Amari Johor Bahru invited The Iskandarian to indulge in their Festive Signature TWG 3-Tier Afternoon Tea Set at the elegant Amaya Cafe.
You can definitely see and feel that the festive season is here at the lounge, with its Christmas tree and a huge Gingerbread House built where you can get your favourite festive cookies; freshly baked by the hotel’s pastry team.
My friend and I are big fans of premium TWG tea and Amaya Cafe took care of our food with their customary three-tier Afternoon Tea selections, coupled with a platter of Charcoal Grilled Chicken Satay complete with peanut sauce, nasi impit, cucumber and shallot slices.
I really relished the Apple Wood Norwegian Smoked Salmon with Lemon Vinaigrette on Brioche as my appetiser and since I skipped lunch to experience the Afternoon Tea, the Sandwich of Grilled Turkey Ham and Cheddar Slices and Mini Amaya Chicken Sliders were enough to appease the hunger in me.
My friend enjoyed the whole savoury items and we both had so much fun taking photos of the cute Amaya Macarons, Rose Cheese Cake on Sable Breton and my personal favourite is the silky smooth and crispy Thai Milk Tea Egg Tart. We broke the Gingerbread Man into half and were then served their classic Chocolate Brownies and Vanilla Ice Cream with pouring hot Gingerbread Caramel Sauce on a sizzling plate! Such a show it was to film and tell our friends later.
We were on the topic of inviting our friends who prefer local food and we were informed that there are add-ons in the menu priced at RM10nett per item for Vegetarian Samosas, Deep Fried Seafood Wanton or Sago Gula Melaka and so on.
Carefully curated by Executive Chef Hairi and his team of culinary experts, the Festive Signature TWG 3-Tier Afternoon Tea Set is available daily until 25th December 2022, from 1 pm to 7pm, priced at RM108nett.
