The Mega Laughter Malaysia team comprising members from Johor Bahru Happy and Joyous Club with Laughter Yoga Leaders and Teachers from Kuala Lumpur, hosted the virtual ‘Haha Merdeka Malaysia’ event with local and international participants on Malaysia’s National Day, the 31st of August 2022.
People from around the world especially from Japan, Canada, Australia, USA and etc. attended the session in their best traditional attire joining the national day celebration together.
Jamaliah Jamaluddin, Bandar Utama, Selangor’s State Assemblywoman who is known for championing issues on race, immigration, climate change, youth and women empowerment also attended the meeting as the guest of honour.
She commended the effort that the association took especially for people facing mental and emotional issues post-pandemic that are in need of frequent communication after living in isolation for so long without social interaction.
“(Laughter) Yoga is actually one of the ways or practice that actually helps a lot of rakyat Malaysia (people of the country) so that they know they can actually have a healthier lifestyle and good mental health,” she said, addressing the core activity of the organisation.
The event held various activities from singing and dancing, a presentation on Laughter Yoga for Unity, Laughter Yoga Testimony, Celebration Laughter by World Laughing Competition Champion, Taramaraju, The Business of Laughter presentation, Brain Gym Laughter and Kara Sherman’s Affirmation Laughter video before it closing the event with Laugh for World Peace by Assistant Organising Chairperson, Koh Mui Cheng. The event was opened by Organising Cairperson, Fiona Lee, Laughter Yoga Teacher from Kuala Lumpur.
