The state government is revising its approach in managing the Covid-19 pandemic, according to Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad.
In a statement on his official Facebook page, Hasni said that this is because Johor is aware that Covid-19 will become prevalent and persist in the community for a long period.
In order to handle Covid-19 more efficiently and effectively, he stated that a new understanding should be practised through improving public health regulations.
“Improved access to personal test kits, increased allocation to receive additional vaccine supply, and other appropriate steps are among these efforts.
Tunku Mahkota of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, had previously ordered the state government of Johor to expedite the implementation of initiatives to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, which is becoming increasingly critical.
Tunku Ismail, through his official Facebook page HRH Crown Prince of Johor, stated that this is due to the fact that the state’s Covid-19 data continue to show a high number of daily cases.
Tunku Ismail believes that rapid test kits and personal test kits should be made available to all Johor citizens as soon as possible, and that they should be widely used, particularly in crucial sectors other than frontline workers.
“In particular (for) key sectors involved in pharmaceutical, food, and other basic necessities processing. People must also be thoroughly tested and immunised as soon as possible,” he stressed.
