Rumah Iskandar Malaysia (RIM) had distributed 1,000 lemang and rendang packs as well as 300 basic food packs to the communities around its area as an effort to help the needy and enliven the Ramadan cum upcoming Raya celebration.
Datuk Ismail Ibrahim, Chief Executive of Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) said “Apart from implementing high-impact and long-term programmes to help improve the socio-economic status of the people in Iskandar Malaysia, especially those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the lemang distribution programme, rendang and basic food packs can also help the needy to some extent during the month of Ramadan and with the arrival of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.”
A total of 40 volunteers consisting of residents and staff of RIM and IRDA staff worked together to prepare and distribute 1,000 lemang sticks and rendang packs in the compound of Rumah Iskandar Malaysia. Distribution was done on a drive-thru basis to ensure compliance with existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Meanwhile, another group of volunteers prepared and distributed 300 packs of basic food such as rice, cooking oil, flour and others to the RIM residents.
