Dining in Ponderosa Golf & Country Club’s Cafe is easy peasy lemon squeezy, as a simple individual would say. As COVID-19 brings about a whole new of normalities to abide with in order to keep us safe from an unknown, micro enemy of mankind, at Ponderosa, it is straightforward and pretty easy with their 3 types of Dulang Set for the fasting month’s feast.
I found myself seated at a table for 6 people maximum and each of us was given our own ladles and gloves to enjoy the lovely kampung large tray of 8 different dishes. The Selera Muhibbah Set is generous with their Ayam Percik, Mee Goreng, Potatoes and Chilli, Javanese stir fry, Salted Fish with lovely fragrant white rice – all when put together in our plate, is a close resemblance to Nasi Ambeng, the dish that is served in tray! This sort of dining could only be organised and hosted by a close-knit community or families, so kudos to Ponderosa for bringing it to us when we are not allowed to travel back to our beloved kampung this season.
Besides the set that we had, there is Ponderosa’s Biryani complete with Ayam Masak Merah for that ala-Middle East variant. For starters, do dig in the Mushroom soup with garlic bread before jumping into the Butter rice and Spaghetti Aglio Olio.
The highlight is the friendly food delivery robot, Bella that would attend to you from time to time so don’t forget to take a photo with your high tech friend!
A small group of 4 to 5 persons is easily priced at RM45 per set and add on more options in a separate complementary menu which is priced at RM8 to RM15 per dish. Larger group with 8 persons maximum, the dulang would only cost you RM68 nett. Fret not if you are not keen to dine in as Ponderosa offers delivery of their dulang sets at a one-off fee of RM5.
