Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation (TLJCF) together with TLJCF Cancer Support Group, Breast Cancer Support Group Johor Bahru and Johor I Care Society had joined hands to organise a celebration and support for fellow cancer fighters on 10th October 2020 namely ‘Be Bold’ at Sunway Iskandar Events Gallery.
“Cancer may have started the fight, but we are in this together”, said Mohd Ikmal Izam Zaini, Chief Executive Officer of TLJCF in his speech at the event. TLJCF cited that although having boldness may be difficult, it believes that by being courageous, confident, happy and joyful together, the sense of boldness will come along the way. The struggle of the late Johor Prince Tunku Abdul Jalil has also been an inspiration for most cancer fighters nationwide and TLJCF hoped the program can further inspire everyone to take up challenges to be more courageous and able to BE BOLD together as well as offer moral and physical support to everyone in need.
The event was packed with group activities that boosted courage, confidence, happiness and joy among the cancer fighter attendees.
Present to support the cancer fighters are representatives from the Ministry of Health Training Institute Johor Bahru, Amaniz Empire PLT, Institute of Teacher Education, Temenggong Ibrahim Johor Campus and Breast Cancer Support Group Johor Bahru.
TLJCF was inspired by Almarhum Tunku Abdul Jalil Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Laksamana Johor when during his battle with cancer, he discovered the procedures and medical expenses were putting a strain on cancer patients and their families. Concerned, he brought this to the attention of his father, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, the Sultan of Johor who concurred with the idea. The Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation was then established under the full support of the entire royal family and supervision of the Johor State Government in 2015.
