The Johor Relief Organisation or widely known as Ihsan Johor is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) established in 2016 to promote volunteerism, mobilising its Ihsan Johor Rangers, the organisation’s troop of volunteers to put together personnel protective equipment or PPE for frontliners.

The first batch of 200 pieces of isolation gowns by Ihsan alongside 6PAPR units sponsored by Lotte Chemical Titan (M) Sdn. Bhd. at a cost of RM 51,000 was handed over to the Johor State Health Department, witnessed by the Director and State Health and Environment committee chairman R. Vidyanathan.

Under the leadership of Ihsan Johor’s CEO Farrah Baptist, volunteers worked tirelessly to provide 200 pieces of PPE to Hospital Sultan Ismail, 50 pieces to Hospital Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom, Kluang, 100 pieces to PDRM Johor and another 100 pieces to Hospital Sultanah Aminah.

“There is still PPE being produced by over 20 volunteers from our end and we are targeting to complete it at the soonest. The volunteers are from different background and beliefs but all working together to ensure adequate PPE is provided for the frontliners,” said Farrah Baptist.

Ihsan Johor is an award-winning organisation recognised by the Iskandar Malaysia Social Hero Awards or IMSHA. The initiative to provide PPE was done in partnership with another IMSHA Winner the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation Malaysia (Johor Bahru) and KTM Distribution Sdn. Bhd.

“Our volunteers are located in many places from Johor Bahru to Kulai and they are all carrying out this labour of love to help ensure the safety of the frontliners,” added Farrah.
