Columbia Asia Hospital – Iskandar Puteri (CAH-IP) together with Klinik Pergigian Taman Ungku Tun Aminah, Johor Bahru organised a Hand & Dental Hygiene Awareness Campaign 2020 in conjunction with World Hand Hygiene Day initiated by the World Health Organisation (WHO) at Sekolah Kebangsaan Medini in Iskandar Puteri, Johor.

“With the country facing the COVID-19 outbreak, it is the responsibility of CAH-IP as a hospital to set a prime example of personal hygiene and educate the community on health-related matters. This approach is effective in creating awareness among the young generation regarding personal hygiene. The students were also given brochures on hand hygiene for them to share with their families,” said Dr Ding Eng Li, CAH-IP General Manager.
The campaign educated and created awareness on the importance of hand washing the right way. Children are prone to infections that come from lack of hygiene care, and not washing hands properly is one of the examples while learning proper oral hygiene could help the children to prevent tooth decay, cavities and gum diseases for the long run.
Good hygiene habits from an early age will be carried through right into adulthood.
Columbia Kids Club mascot, ‘Zoey the Parrot’ made an appearance to dance with the students while they learned seven steps of hand washing technique and it continued with demonstration of the correct method to brush teeth by Klinik Pergigian Taman Ungku Tun Aminah, Johor Bahru.
