Youth to Business Career Fair by AIESEC in Johor Bahru and AIESEC of University of Nottingham Malaysia

University students facing stress from youth unemployment is not something new. Besides balancing their academics, they have to take note of events or webinars that can help them increase their competency and exposure to the current labour market. Still, fresh graduates would have to wait for months before landing a job, and with the current pandemic, many are left unemployed. This is why the ‘Youth to Business Career Fair’ is launched and will be held throughout the month of December.

The career fair is an initiative by AIESEC in Johor Bahru and AIESEC in the University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNMC). The local chapters of AIESEC in Malaysia is a youth-run, non-governmental and not-for-profit organisation founded in 1968. The fair is also in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

Key activities that will be held during the fair

With the tagline ‘Unlock Your Future, Own Your Tomorrow’, AIESEC aims to combat the rise of youth unemployment in Malaysia by bridging the gap between the youths and the industries through networking opportunities, engaging in corporate-held workshops and learning about what it takes to be a leader in the workforce. The topics presented will range from the financial market, entrepreneurship to leadership.

Y2B Career Fair is open to all graduates and undergraduate students across Malaysian universities. Third and fourth-year students and graduates will have the opportunity to look for internships or job placements. Meanwhile, first and second-year students are highly encouraged to join as many informative and enlightening sessions will be held. Students will gain new knowledge about the working world that will be beneficial in the future.
