Ihsan Johor and Yayasan kebajikan Suria, both award-winning organisations recognised by the Iskandar Malaysia Social Hero Awards (IMSHA) together with Pertubuhan Kebajikan Wawasan JB had organised a donation of chickens supplied by Johor-based Aqina Farm through their Aqina Corporate Social Responsibility Campaign for the needy in Mukim Bandar (Johor Bahru) and Mukim Tebrau).
500 poultries were donated with the help of Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) in Kampung Ulu Pandan, Kampung Kangkar Tebrau, Kampung Oren, Kampung Skudai Kiri and Kampung Melayu Majidee. Datuk Maulizan Bujang, former state education chairman has also helped to distribute the chickens at his area in Puteri Wangsa, Kangkar Tebrau.
15 volunteers dispersed to help at each location on 23rd April 2021 from as early as 8.30am to 5.30pm. According to Ihsan Johor’s CEO, Farrah Baptist, the donation will be done on a monthly basis.
In support of the ongoing National Immunisation Programme (NIP) against COVID-19, the campaign held a vaccination registration on the day itself as well.
“With strict SOP to all attendees during the donation by Aqina Farm, Ihsan Johor volunteers also managed to register 60 people for vaccination,” she said.
