A new sports and recreation hub in Johor Bahru; Johor Yacht & Recreational Club (JYRC), has opened to the public at the R&F waterfront development overlooking the Straits of Johor and Singapore.

Launched by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar at R&F Marina Place, the all-new marina organised a three-day Johor Speedfest from 25th to 27th November, showcasing supercars, superbikes, power boats, jet skis, yacht and seaplanes.

Johor Jeep Owners Club chairman Datuk Md Othman Yusof and R&F Malaysia chairman, Li Mingliang, were among a host of dignitaries to welcome His Majesty.

The free-admission event, supported by the Johor Tourism Department, included Asia Powerboat Championship, where top teams from around the region compete for points in the Asian circuit, including Malaysia’s first all-female team.

The event serves as a lead-in to initiatives to advertise Johor and the Straits of Johor as potential locations for regional and global powerboat racing competitions with a great hope that it will help promote and position the State as a premier location for adventure and recreation in the region.
