Since 1985, Tai Thong Mooncake Sdn Bhd (Tai Thong) has been celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with Malaysians through its signature mooncakes, which continue to evolve offering many quality and novel flavours. Tai Thong has since become a popular home-grown brand and to celebrate its 40th anniversary, they launched the Ruby Jubilee Set, a limited-edition carrier box featuring 3 new flavours as well as 3 classic Tai Thong best sellers.

The new flavours are Momoyama Custard Chocolate, Momoyama Sea Salt Chocolate and Momoyama Latte Chocolate. Adding to the mix are sought-after signature mooncakes such as Baked Skin White Lotus, Baked Skin Pure Red Bean and Baked Skin Pure Lotus. These sumptuous delights are crafted using high-quality ingredients and the Momoyama series highlights rich, velvety premium chocolate filling made of cocoa beans from Ghana and the Ivory Coast. Boasting a 58% cocoa content, this silky ganache is made with simple high-quality ingredients, following a traditional Belgian recipe.

“Central to the 40th anniversary, Tai Thong are very excited and proud to introduce the First Baked Chocolate Filling mooncakes together with our ever-popular traditional series, pairing with exquisitely Unique Gift Boxes; Ruby Jubilee Set, Rabbit Lantern and Malaysian Heritage Centric box. This collection not only honors our cultural heritage but also demonstrates our dedication to innovation and sustainability in every meticulously crafted mooncake,” shared Adrian Gan, Chief Executive Officer of Tai Thong.

Founded four decades ago, Tai Thong blends modern design with local artistry and sustainable materials with each project. Mooncakes are held as a cherished symbol of the Mid-Autumn Festival connecting generations with signature flavours and intricate designs, preserving cultural significance. Beyond the symbolism, mooncakes bring families together, creating precious memories. Looking ahead, Tai Thong mooncakes will continue to unite families, ensuring the company’s legacy and it celebrates shared values and history.

Forging forward and appealing to the younger generation, the Momoyama skin is introduced. A highly popular choice since its introduction, it is a white-kidney bean-based dough with less gluten than the traditional baked skin and comes with a hint of natural bean flavour. Its texture is smoother, and appearance is more defined and may be served at room temperature or chilled. Other new individual flavours introduced this year that aren’t to be missed are the Snow Skin Rose Coconut Milk with Single Yolk mooncake, the Purple Potato Honey with Salted Egg Chicken Floss mooncake, which can be purchased as part of the Handcraft Rabbit Lantern Set with the Momoyama Green Tea Red Bean and finally, the Black Sesame with Almond Custard Single Yolk mooncake.

Through the time-honoured tradition of combining skill and experience in pastry making, not only is Tai Thong renowned for its lotus paste and various other filling flavours, but the Company is constantly creating new and traditional aesthetic packaging for their mooncakes. Tai Thong celebrates 40th anniversary by introducing the Ruby Jubilee Set as well as a series of designer boxes featuring cultural and heritage theme of Malaysia. The fine craftsmanship and exquisite artistry are reflected through the texture of the wood and overall presentation. Whether used as gift packaging or for storing valuable items, this useful Ruby Jubilee Set exhibits the natural beauty of wood and the skills of the craftsmen.

Apart from word of mouth, Tai Thong mooncakes have also won numerous awards and have carved a name for themselves, becoming a well-known quality brand both locally and globally.
